3 Actors Cast in Fincher's Zodiac

Normally this blog focuses primarily on geek and indie movies, but every once in a while some news comes along about a favorite filmmaker of mine that I just have to post. This is one of those occasions. Director, David Fincher (best known for Fight Club and one of my top 5 all-time favorite movies, Se7en) has just cast three of the lead roles in his first film since 2002, Zodiac. The actors in question are Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, and another favorite of mine, Jake Gyllenhaal of Donnie Darko fame. The film is based on two novels from author, Robert Graysmith that chronicle the period of 1966-1978 when at least 37 people in the San Francisco area were murdered by the Zodiac serial killer. Fincher's already directed pretty much the best serial killer movie of all time, so I'm excited to see how he plans to top himself with this one.

interesting, i haven't heard anything about that, but it would explain why it's been so long since he's made a movie. i'll have to check into that.
